Isn’t Trump’s Bedminster golf club in NJ known as “The Summer White House”? How long after the inauguration before it’s announced that the federal government will be funneling millions to it for “drone defense”?
I would think that drone defense is something already covered as part of standard protection for the POTUS and that no “announcement” would be forthcoming.
But this is Trump and his main purpose in life is to enrich himself (and amass authoritarian power and then get revenge on his “enemies”). Augmenting “Drone Defense” will just be a public excuse to give his property taxpayer money, whether it’s needed or not. Trump’s going to milk his term for all it’s worth.
Most presidents’ private homes have required security upgrades because the president and family visits it during holidays, so perhaps not unusual.
And it’s a bit ironic that Donald Trump called Mar-A-Lago his “Winter White House” since that’s exactly the purpose for which Marjorie Merriweather Post intended when she offered it to the US Government; as an official presidential retreat.
