Drummers, Can Y'all Help With This, Please?

In May, I’ve been asked to sit in on drums with a band that plays classic rock. We’ll be at an all-day festival, and I’d sure like to play there, if I can.

Today I’ll be getting the suggested playlist, which I’ll be asked to check and indicate the songs I’ll be most comfortable playing.

I need to practice, of course, and I have some “Play Along” cd’s, but unfortunately, they’re mostly funk/jazz bass runs, which I CAN follow, but it makes no sense to use them, since they won’t be the original tunes.

Can any of you recommend a service that will record a cd w/o a drum track, and who would put the selections I order on a cd for me?

I go to Jared Falk’s site and have Mike Michalkow’s Drumming System, but again:

  1. Jared’s on the computer

  2. Mike doesn’t have the tunes I need to learn.

I can, of course, dig the originals (I’m sure I’ll have most of them) out of my collection and use those with the drum track on them, but I’d rather practice with them removed, if I can.

Thanks!

Hey mikews99!

Thanks a bunch for those links! The Leonard ones are great, but somewhat limiting, but the last ones seem to be what I need.

I really appreciate your efforts to help me with this!
