dry mouth and chapped lips

I have dry mouth and chapped lips and I wonder if a humidifier would help.

Air con will do that, since it dries out the air.

Yes, get a humidifier. A good one.

I live in southeastern PA. and have hot air heat.
I thought that a humidifier may not cure everything, but it sure can’t hurt.

Ugh. Yes, and add lip balm [I use one that is more shea butter than waxy crap - I dislike chapstick because it feels like rubbing a crayon on.] I also have issues with my sinuses drying out, so I use neutral saline spray, and tend to keep a bottle of water around and sip on it.

I agree with lip balm for the lips. Mine always crack in dry air, they’ve been particularly bad for the last week.

I got a lip balm called “Burt’s Bees” and it has beeswax, coconut oil, vitamin E and Peppermint.
I just got it so I don’t know how good it is, but it sounds impressive. So far, so good.

I like the Burt’s Bees lip balm very much! Also, be sure you’re drinking enough water. It’s surprisingly easy to get somewhat dehydrated when it’s cold. My lips chap when I’m not getting enough liquids.

I’m going through the exact same thing with indoor heat. My eyes are so dry I can’t wear my contacts and I have to use drops several times a day.

OP: when do have it? Does it happen just in the winter or can it happen any time of the year?

In the winter.
I know it’s a combination of the dry heat and the Meds I take. I was just wondering what would help.

Then I would think humidifier. That is more convenient than putting something on your lips at least once a day.

I have to take a lot of meds, and dry mouth is one of the side effects. Keep your mouth closed and breathe through your nose.

The problem is while I’m sleeping.

I know. I always wake up with a slightly sore throat, from sleeping with my mouth open.
