What DSL Modems are good? and Why?
I have a Speedstar 5260 by Efficient Networks. That’s what Covad gave me when I registered, so I had no option or say in it.
But, it works fine. I’ve had no problems in the four months I’ve had DSL. Nice and zippy downloads, no hiccups, no burps. Nothing.
I have a Flowpoint DSL router, also supplied to me by my (COVAD-aligned) ISP. I’ve had occasional problems with various other aspects of my DSL service, but never with the router.
