Surfing Mid East TV on the satellite.
The Wife/Girl Friend is riding in the back seat of the car. Is this usual, or perhaps something to do with the plot of the program?
were there two people in the car or just the girl in the back and the driver. Usually in dubai most people have drivers hence the owner of the vehicle sits in the back. Not just dubai, but in most non western places this is normal.
I’ll assume you aren’t suggesting that most non-Westerners have the funds to pay a chauffeur, because if you are that would be wrong. Even in Dubai, most people drive their own vehicles.
Interesting thread!
Are women allowed to drive in Dubai? Do they have to wear abayas like the women in Saudi Arabia? How much sexual innuendo are the actors allowed to get away with on the soap operas and other TV shows?
The women are Western in appearance. They range from beautiful young women who cry a lot to older normal looking women who shake their fingers in guy’s faces and scream.
There are comic buffon type men and a mean nasty SOB Godfather type.
Hard to tell much when I don’t speak the language. I ususally just cruise past looking for war news unless I see a “WTF?” like a woman in the back seat.
Are you sure that this soap does not originate from another country such as Brazil and is dubbed into Arabic. I am sure I have seen a similar programme on the Abu Dharbi TV channel we can receive here on satellite. You can see that the dialogue is dubbed because of the poor lip sync
I have no idea.
I didn’t mean all people just those that can afford it. Was the woman sitting in the back all the time in the show?
The only scene in a car was a ride to and from a restaurant; she sat in the back both times.
Moving this to Cafe Society.
I remember seeing a Syrian Soap Opera once. I didn’t understand a word (the only reason I know it was Syrian is because the channel advertised as such).
It was hokey in a bad 80s kind of way.
