Merry Christmas
It’s already Christmas here, and I’m still alone. I unwrapped my presents a few minutes ago via webcam, but I didn’t get to see my whole family since it’s still just Christmas Eve there. And unwrapping presents isn’t as fun when you are doing it by yourself and there is no dinner and talking afterwards. I’m celebrating with friends this weekend, but it’s going to be a long lonely day before that.
Yea, all alone, but I just watched a quite enjoyable flick on one of the Turner movie channels called Cluny Brown. It was one of those 40’s comedies based on British manners and class distinction.

Yep, all alone. Will be on New Years Eve/Day too. That’s what happens when you don’t really have a lot of family close by (or like enough to travel long distance for) and your few friends all have family to spend the holidays with.
I really should be used to this by now.

I’m kind of alone right now - I’m at my mother’s house (in Ajijic, Mexico) but she is sound asleep. I have to stay up to let my husband and son in when they arrive, which will be around 2 am Christmas morning if all goes well (they are flying in from Tampa to Guadalajara).
Would one of you PLEEZ send some eggnog my way?
Trying to figure out if egg nog will go through my modem and still get to you in time!
Only one more hour to go from where I sit.

I’m alone, but I just spent the entire evening on video Skype with one whole side of the family. They just plopped a laptop in the middle of their conversations and present-opening, and it really was the next best thing to being there.
In fact, it worked almost too well. Now visions of money saved on future plane fare are dancing in my head.
so, I just had a pt arrive with a facial laceration, a little mishap while assembling some toys. He’ll need some stiches and was wondering what he’s going to tell his kids in the morning. Ever that fast smart-ass I tell him ‘just say you caught mommy kissing Santa Claus and the 2 of you had words.’
I love this job sometimes

I’m semi-alone: Mr. Starving got food poisoning yesterday, almost certainly from something at the office pot luck party. It was a night of …stuff… violently exiting from both ends all night for him. Unfortunately he had to go to work today, then he crawled home and conked out about 5 pm. Snores emanating from the bedroom all evening doesn’t really count as company, you know?
So I’ve spent the evening doing a bunch of quiet chores – balanced the checkbook, paid the bills, dusted and straightened and so forth. Eh. Not a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve, but no biggie.
What is a little depressing is that he’s one of those guys who doesn’t even start Christmas shopping until Christmas eve. Combined with the fact that our extended family all agreed we woudn’t exchange presents this year, well, I’m guessing this means no presents for me. 
And, yes, I know, there are millions of people with much worse problems.

Of course, the phone conversation I had earlier irritated me enough that I remembered why seeing the relatives at holiday time isn’t always the best idea.
I suppose, since it’s one minute to midnight for me, I should go to sleep soon.
That had to be the worst thing that I have ever had, two weeks ago I started coming down with something and just pushed it off cause I dont get sick that often. Till I started waking up in the morning with those lung cookies wanting to make an exit.
I go to the doc in a box , and he tells me that I have not just one cold , oh no , I got hit with two in succession and at present the resident cold is a chest cold. Never have I had one of these suckers before that I remember so I feel your pain.
Robbutosin will clear up the chest part nicely though.

I’m doing my usual alone bit for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day (right now), and Boxing Day. Friends of mine worry a bit about me, bless 'em, but I prefer not sharing Christmas with other people’s families. Looking forward to doing a bit of yardwork tomorrow.
