Dukes of Hazard dropped from TV Land schedule

Because it’s evil, I guess. Hogan’s Heroes is probably safe though, because the Nazis were funny, weren’t they?

Damn, two z’s? Ah well, no way to edit the error.

Oh noes! The cultural contributions of The Dukes of Hazzard may be forgotten. How will future generations understand the origin of the term daisy dukes in reference to exceedingly short jean shorts?

Does anyone even watch TVLand anymore? With MUCH better retro stations like METV, Antenna TV, etc… TVLand’s prgramming is way behind. I mean, they have evenings where they just run marathons of “Family Feud”. Seriously? meh, far as I’m concerned TVLand is never on my radar.

Bo and Luke are unpersons, you see.

And the General Lee is, I guess, an uncar.

That should solve the problem of racism, because pulling The Cosby Show has done wonders to curb date rape.

Hmm. Let’s take a guess as to who was protrayed as protagonists in which shows first.

The Hazzard Heroes drive around with a terrorist symbol on their car. Don’t expect me to cry for them.

It is getting a little silly at this point. I support getting ride of the confederate flag and all that, but a show that had it back in 1980 should be able to air as is and be appreciated for what it was in its time.

Well, the Nazis were the bad guys in Hogan’s Heroes, but I doubt you’d see a show with the good guys flying a Nazi flag.

I don’t understand why we are supposed to take the concerns of old white viewers who get offended when a show they like is taken off the air seriously, but the concerns of everyone else who finds the display of a pro-slavery flag offensive are not valid.

Why, that’s ridiculous! I needs my “Daisy Duke” fix, dadgummit…

Oh, come on. You’re conveniently forgetting Heil Honey I’m Home!

That’s right, also the Andy Griffith where Andy and Barney go to the Klan rally in Mount Pilot.

Gosh dang, pretty soon Lynyrd Skynyrd albums are going to be flying off store shelves faster than .223 ammo.

Maybe they can use CGIU to digitally remove the Confederate Battle Flag from the General Lee.

Meh, obviously they just did an evaluation of how many people complained versus the ratings and the Dukes lost. If The Dukes of Hazzard was bringing in the big money, they’ve had made some handwave about “product of its time” or whatever.

I suspect that the number of people who’ll be in a tizzy about this will be 50x larger than the amount of people who actually watched the show in the last twenty years.

Maybe Fox News can pick it up and show it after their new comedy program. For Freedom!

Can’t people just buy it on DVD? I mean, it wasn’t really a great show or anything. No one is under any obligation to play it forever.

I actually enjoyed how they handled the Confederate flag adorning the car in the 2005 film.
(When the car is in for repairs, Cooter takes some liberties and installs the Dixie horn and details the roof with the flag. The boys get in the car without seeing the roof then drive to Atlanta. All the higher vehicles on the freeway can see the flag and Bo and Luke are confused at all the people either cheering them or shaming them.)

I wish they still did this but, alas, not any more. It’s Gilligan’s Island, How I Met Your Mother and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Okay, funny I guess, but… the roof of a '69 Charger is a good eighteen inches below the eye level of the actors. What did they do, crawl into it drunk?
