Dulce de Leche -- the Drink?

OK, in “Guys and Dolls,” they’re in Cuba and they drink dulce de leches – some form of rum and milk drink. I have been unable to find a recipe for the drink. Google gives me millions of hits for the edible dessert, but not the drink. Any help?

This was the only reference I could find on the entire Google:

Scroll down to “Cafe 43”.

In Cuba Dulce de Leche liquor is what the english speaking world knows as Bailey’s Irish Cream.

This page has a recipe, in Spanish, for “Licor de dulce de leche.” The ingredients seem to consist of little more than sugar, dulce de leche, and alcohol. This page also has a recipe, and although the portions are much larger, the ingredients are essentially the same. The second page does include water as part of the recipe.

The process, in a nutshell, involves melting the sugar to form a syrup, adding the dulce de leche and stirring with a wooden spoon until it is fully dissolved and mixed with the sugar syrup, then removing this mixture from the heat, allowing it to cool, and adding the alcohol.
