Dumb movie lines

What’s the dumbest line in a movie you ever saw.

I just caught a bit of Pearl Harbour (I wasn’t really watching it, I just saw a bit). During the Japanese attack someone shouted “I think World War Two just started”

Any other dumb lines?

From Working Girl:
“I am not a steak. You cannot order me.”

Too many to count from Signs, particularly by Rory Culkin:

RC: They said there are one of two outcomes of an invasion. One: they fight, and are defeated, and have to return again with full forces hundreds or even thousands of years later.
Mel Gibson: What’s two?
RC: They win.

Gahhh. Kill me now.

Added bonus by M. Night himself (what a terrible actor this guy is):

[After talking at length about Gibson’s character’s wife]
MNS: Don’t open my pantry, Father. I found one of them in there. I locked him in.

:dubious:  :smack:

According to Ananova

Not only was it the worst line I’d ever heard, IMHO, but its delivery during a torrential storm catapulted it into the stupidest line category as well.

None of those come close.
The worst line ever is from “Plan Nine from Outer Space.”
“The sheriff’s been murdered, and one thing’s for sure: SOMEONE is responsible.”

“NOBODY puts Baby in a corner.”

Even when I was a starry-eyed Patrick Swayze fangirl back in the early 80s, I guffawed.

I’m obliged to mention this essential book. From the title page:

War! War! That’s all you think of, Dick Plantagenet! You burner! You pillager!"
–Virginia Mayo as Lady Edith to George Sanders in King Richard and the Crusaders (1954)

“Visits? That would indicate visitors.”
–Army captain learning of alien visits in Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959)

“When I’m sitting here with you, I don’t even think about the slime people.”
–Hero to heroine in The Slime People (1962)

“Suck the coffin mushroom now.”
–The Ultimate Vampire (1991)

“This is bad.”
–Leonardo DiCaprio as the you-know-what hits the you-know-what in Titanic (1997)

"Do you know what happens to a toad when it’s struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else. " - X-Men

Love the movie - this quote just sucks.

Susan

Pfc Hudson, in Aliens (otherwise one of my favorite action movies): “We’re on an express elevator to Hell! GOIN’ DOWN!!!”

Yeah, I realize its the kind of stupid joke a real guy like Hudson would crack in a similar situation, but in the real world the rest of the platoon would have thrown stuff at him and told him to shut up. The lack of reaction from his friends makes it a bad (or just poorly realized) line.

Joss Whedon (Buffy teh Vampire Slayer) wrote it. He claims they botched the context and delivery. I fail to see how that line could work in any context, but since his only other contribution to the movie was its best line (“You’re a dick”), I’m inclined to believe him.

I’ve heard a theory, not confirmed by Joss, that the punchline should have been "it croaks"
