Did anyone else see this train wreck? I understand that a little bit of deception might be a good thing on this show, maybe downplaying your knowledge at times so you don’t get voted off for being too smart. But I don’t think this was the case last night, when the contestants were TV Stars that aren’t particularly well known now. Examples:
Dustin Diamond, who played Screech on “Saved by the Bell” - Q: In geography, what is the most populous city? A: China; Q: What is the two word term for the shock wave created when an airplane breaks the sound barrier? A: Ka Boom.
Danny Pintauro, who played Jonathon Bower on “Who’s the Boss” - Q: In mathematics, what is 4 x 15? A: 48; In a question about Rupert Murdoch, which I can’t recall completely, but along the lines of the following: "What Australian businessman and real estate magnate purchased the [some newspaper] in [insert year] ? A: Donald Trump
Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Carlton Banks on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” - Q: What is the 24th letter of the modern English alphabet? A: “Y” (and he thought about it for 10 seconds!)
Emmanuel Lewis, who played Webster on “Webster”? Q: In 1966, under whose administration was the first black cabinet member appointed? A: Jimmy Carter.
There were many others. Anybody got favorites?
