DVD burning question

I’m trying to find software that will burn .mov digital camera home videos onto a DVD so they can be watched on the TV. I’ve searched the entire internet (sure seems like it, anyway) for something that can do that, but there are sooo many options, I have no idea what to go for.

I’ve tried one called DVDFAB, but it won’t let me choose my videos as the source because the folder is not a “DVD folder” and because “File (Desktop\Videos\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO) does not exist”.

So, does anyone know of any software that will burn digital camera videos onto a DVD+R disc? I’ve got a Kodak camera, and a Liteon DVD writer, and plenty of space for a software download, and I’m running Windows XP.

Does the file extract from the camera as a .mov file or is it converted to a .mov file through editing?

I don’t mess with .mov files at all (I avoid them) but perhaps you can fine a mov to avi/mpeg converter?

It extracts from the camera as a .mov file.

I’ll look for a converter, and see where I can go from there, thanks. Any suggestions on software titles?

VideoHelp.com to the rescue! Here are a few guides for converting MOV (and other formats) to DVD.

Thanks! Lots of those guides have ConvertXtoDVD in common, so I’m gonna try that tomorrow and see if it’ll do what I need it to do. G’night!

Very comprehensive site in regards to your topic.

You have to convert from mov to avi and then to mpeg format in order to burn a DVD that can be viewed on your tv. Each of these steps could involve a different piece of software. I’m surprised that your videocam cannot just send the file directly as an avi file via firewire or USB to your PC. Check your user manual.
