DVd problem: "this disk is corrupted and unreadable" - HELP!

Mrs. RickJay is despondent over some DVDs she burned that have gone haywire. I was wondering if anyone could help.

She was switching computers and burnt many of our photos onto DVD. She checked the DVDs on two computers and the pictures were accessible.

Then she cleaned up the old computer and got the new. The new one has two DVD drives in it. She put a DVD in one drive and nothing came up. She put it in the other and it said the disk was “corrupted and unreadable.” Same with another DVD. Now they get this message in all DVD drives.

A THIRD DVD, which she did not put into that first DVD drive, works.

Is there any way to recover the pictures from this DVD?

My mistake; they are burned CDs, not DVDs.

CD drives can have problems reading a disc made on another drive. Do you still have the old CD drive in the old computer? Can you remove one of the new disc drives and install the old drive into the new computer?

I am not sure if this is the problem but for cd’s you must close the session before the disk is readable.
