Some years ago, Lisa Ling went with some eye doctors to North Korea to do some charity work. This airs occasionally on Nat Geo, and it does today (at least on my provider). If it’s in your listing, it’s worth recording to get their account of the Twilight Zonish atmosphere of North Korea.
Thanks for this! I watched the Vice Guide’s series on North Korea, as well as their followup in Russia about the North Korean loggers/slave laborers there. Fascinating stuff.
I’ve set my DVR to record this.
Thanks! Just set it up to record!

didn’t see it this time but that show is very interesting. Especially interesting are the reactions of the people whose sight is helped by the doctors and how they praise the “Great Leader”…
I watched it and thought it was fascinating to see what’s going on there. I did have one problem with it, though. There has to be a non-negligible risk that, when the North Korean government finds out about the broadcast, they’ll be a lot less likely to grant similar humanitarian missions in the future. While I enjoyed the program, I’m not sure that’s a worthwhile exchange.
