Dylan's Modern Times Recommendation?

Dylan’s best stuff, according to me:

The Times They Are A’Changin’ : Accoustic

Highway 61 Revisited : Electric

Nashville Skyline: Country

Blood On The Tracks : A Mix of the above for want of a better term.

Based on what I have just posted, am I likely to like Modern Times?

And yes, I have heard some of the other, newer stuff, but nothing I like better than what I have listed.

Thanks for your opinions.

Modern Times sounds more…honky tonk(?) than the stuff you have listed. Almost like JJ Cale had a hand in the songs. There is some classic Dylan lyrical things, but based on what you listed, I would say that if you like those AND like honky-tonk-type stuff, you’ll be fine…

it is a very good CD.

I think it fits in pretty well with Time Out of Mind and Love and Theft, but with a dirter sound. I think it is the same band on all three.

I understand from an NPR report that Modern Times went to number one on the Billboard charts?

For someone who started out 40 years ago, this is quite an accomplishment, IMHO.

I have not listened to any of the tunes on the cd, but on the strength of my respect and his longevity, I do not believe I will be disappointed when I buy it.

Thanks
