E-mail trouble with Yahoo

Since Yahoo! forced me to upgrade, I constantly have trouble with my e-mail. Is there any way to get back to the ‘old’ version of Yahoo! e-mail? I know I could get a different e-mail provider, but that would mean updating all the places that I get notifications, etc. from, and I’d just rather not.

I’d guess no. I have a link to the old-old version, that I used because I didn’t like the old version, and it forces me to the new site as well.

I use Thunderbird now. I had always used it for once of my emails, but now use it for the one they want to switch as well. It was easy to set up, it did it automatically. I think I just had to tell it my email address and my password, and it did everything else.

The only “issue” was that it downloaded all my old emails, about 18,000 of them. Took a while, but now I have them all stored locally.

they change the email available to users at different times. make sure your browser is up to date because that’s what they’re aiming at.

I’ve been using Yahoo mail for many years now and have noticed many problems in the last month or so. Six months of emails just disappeared, February 2012-July 2012 just upped and vanished from one of my folders. Lately I keep getting messages when trying to load a folder that Yahoo is having problems accessing it, please try again later. And the most frustrating is my password randomly not being recognized, this is the stored one so I don’t have to enter it every time. My tablet auto checks for new emails and often I get “couldn’t sign in, username or password is incorrect” although they are right. The last straw is something I noticed just yesterday. “Sponsored emails” appearing at the top of my inbox and you can’t delete them without opening them first.

Well Yahoo, it’s been a good ten year run, but I think it’s time to go somewhere else.

I’ve used Y! e-mail for some years now. EVERY F-ing upgrade has been worse than the one before. I’ve always stayed with the oldest version I could for as long as I could. Several versions ago, I decided I’ve had it with Yahoo. I’ve gradually moved most of my e-mail usage elsewhere. (To gmail actually, but now they’re fucking up too.)

gmail has always had trouble with attachments to mail. I have one correspondent that I regularly send e-mail to, with files attached. I’ve stayed with Yahoo for that correspondent, painful though it has been.

I’d like to find another free web-based e-mail provider. All’s I want is plain-old plain-text (for outgoing at least) e-mail with no bells and whistles, and that preferably doesn’t need JavaScript. And can deal with attached files without the hassle.

Yahoo Groups in unusable to me as well as E-mail since they “improved” their format.

Gee, so Yahoo!'s “help” person was wrong in telling me I need a new modem? Why am I not surprised?

i think there will be a new one each time you log in, so why bother with it?
