I’ve got a 1971 LTD convertible. It’s over 18’ long, total, and it feels like the hood goes on forever.
You just get used to it.
The first few times you drive it, you have to remember to stop a few feet early at stop signs, and parking, even non-parallel parking, takes some getting used to. Actually, lots of current parking lot striping leaves slots to short for my car, and I have to find an area where I can have 2 slots.
Stuff on the road? Even in a shorter/modern car, you are seeing those things before it’s under your tires.
Parallel parking? Please give me a whole block, so I can just kind of coast into it.
It also takes getting used to seeing that much of the hood in front of you. But again, you get used to it.
