Butt Ugly Vehicles

Related to the Modern day awful cars thread, there are some truly Butt Ugly, homely looking cars / trucks / wheeled critters on the roads these days, having looks only a blind mother could love. Who designs these crappy cars? (rhetorical question)

What ugly vehicles are you seeing out there recently?

If you link to a picture try to include a description in case the link gets broken. Broken link example from 2004:

Apparently that was of a Fiat Multipla (Type 186). Yes, ugly: fiat 2000 multipla add ons - Google Search

There have been (only) two SDMB threads with ugly cars in the title, but they date from 2004. Surely there are some newer ugly cars.

Ugly ugly cars!

Nissan Quest.

Even more fun. When the shift lever is in drive, you can’t use the climate/radio controls without bumping the lever to neutral. (Unless your forearm has an extra joint)

Nothing will ever top the Pontiac Aztek.

I’ll head off someone adding these to the list by saying I have owned both, and they are great vehicles!!

Currently, I have a 2008 Honda Ridgeline. I seriously think I will own this vehicle for another 10-15 years.

A few years ago I owned a Honda Element. Also a great vehicle.

Both are better looking from the inside out, though. I get it.

Nissan Cube.

The Ridgeline is ugly, but it wasn’t nearly as ugly as the sort-of-similar-in-concept Chevy Avalanche. All that plastic cladding was just hideous.

The first thing that came to mind. That asymmetry.

Buick Encore. I wouldn’t quite say it’s Butt Ugly, and it might be hard to tell from the pictures but the proportions just look way off to me. Like the took a full sized SUV and squished it from front to back but not in height. They just look weird and uncomfortable.

Yipes! They should have called that the Fiat Edema.

Yes that’s pretty ugly. Encore to what, the lovely Buick Rendevous?

Except for the Aztec and the Fiat Multinipple, those cars are just run-of-the-mill shapeless lumps. That’s what most cars are today.

I can not stand the looks of the Dodge Magnum Wagon. It’s like some kind of weird futuristic hearse.

No votes for the Aereo? Or just about any Suzuki?

Oldsmobile Achieva…the Groucho Marx of cars.

I’ve got to add the Ford Flex. It’s nice enough on the inside and has good room, but looking at it…bleah…

I agree. In a long history of homemade ugly cars by Ford, the Flex is one of the worst. I also nominate the 2005 Subaru Tribeca with its ugly front end. It looks like the engineers finished the car design, built the first one, and then said “Holy shit, we forgot to add headlights and a grill!”

I had to trade in my Element last year because we’d been given a pop-up trailer, and the Element couldn’t tow it. I miss that thing nearly every day. Damn, that was a good car.

It had low mileage and was in great shape- it was a lot of fun watching the salesmen at the dealership where we got our XTerra argue over who got to buy it from me.

When we had our 2006 Element in for servicing at the Honda dealer, practically the first thing they said was “Sure you don’t want to sell it ?”.

Elio?
