A big hurricaine is blowing up the East Coast over the next couple of days. Massachusetts has declared a state of emergency. I live south of Boston and right now it looks like we’ll get tropical storm like weather from Friday night onward. Anyone else excited/dreading the extreme weather? Will this be like Hurricaine Gloria (1985) or Cindy (2005)? I love violent weather but I’m nervous about neighborhood trees and my attic apartment.

I think that the Cape and islands are going to get the worst of it. I’m in Boston and not really worried about myself, just annoyed that the weather will probably suck over the long weekend. Oh well, naps and movies.
But I love MV and have met a lot of cool people there. I hope they’re not going to get it too bad.
In a month I’m moving where I work down one floor. A couple of months ago we had a bad storm and downstairs flooded. It was in a state of disrepair for weeks. When it was finally repaired we got another storm. All of the new construction had to be ripped out and redone. And then it happened a third time. And now this.
I want to stay in my above ground office!

I’m near the south shore of Long Island and already the winds are starting to pick up at 10pm. They say it should blow past in the next 24 hours.
Yeah it’ll be down to Category 1 when it comes to MA. All the panicked weathermen and runs on the grocery store for nothing, darn it… Oh yeah, I just have to wait for the first snowflake to experience the same Armageddon frenzy!
