I Paid $170 for a New Easton Metal Bat.
On the first Hit, the bat Dented…
I followed all the warranty instructions, sent the bat back to the Company
(Paid Shipping,Insurance)
I received a Warranty replacement Bat,appropriately stamped.
Next “at bat” the new bat dented!
I went through all the proper hoops and with a note taped on the bat, I request
ed a different model bat. They sent me back the same model.
I called the Easton Warranty Department back and told them I wanted another
model bat. The operator, service rep, obviously didn’t know a thing about bats
put me on-hold three times, came back on the line to tell me, Easton will replace
the bat with another model, however, this will be the last time.
Do not buy Easton Products! The quality is garbage and the service is crap!
Serves you right for buying a metal bat.
I don’t know what version of God’s own sport Mr. Roboto is playing, but if you’re buying your own equipment, there’s no practical alternative to aluminum. You can’t afford to buy wooden bats. They don’t last, and in co-ed play they’re too heavy for a lot of the players.
The real measure of a baseball fan is if they play the game, and if you play as much as I do, no way you can use wood. I’d go bankrupt.
Mr. Roboto, I hate Easton bats. Most are of very low quality. I strongly recommend Worth products. DeMarini are good too.
I’ve used a Steele’s XLT7178 for the last year and a half, and it’s by far the best bat I’ve ever used. It appears to be a discontinued model, so I’ll race you for the last one.
We used worth bats at the batting cage I worked in. Every once in a while we circulated an easton someone left behind but never came back for. Usually broke in about a week.
Here I was thinking it was customary for aluminum bats to be dented to all hell. We used them (Eastons) almost exclusively in high school.
The things you learn…
Incidentally, the single best bat I;ve ever used is the Worth Wicked. Wonderful bat, and unbelievably durable. Our team’s used one for three years; half the team hits with it and it’s still going strong.
However, newer versions are illegal under SPN rules.
