Up by 3.5% with half of the precincts reporting. You’ve got to wonder if the crying had something to do with it.
No way. Clinton cannot win without the black vote. She cannot afford to have black voters think she sabotaged Obama. The day after Obama announced I’m sure she called all her staff in and told them that the first one of them who said or even hinted anything about Obama’s race would get the kind of treatment she fantasized about giving Ken Starr.
So who DOES do her hair anyway?
Eat That, Hillary!
Yup. So…resurgence for Clinton? Or a lot of people who wanted to publicly say they were for the black man, but in the privacy of the voting booth…
Perhaps the misty-eyed near tear.
Was there a tear? I have read claims both ways, even claims that it was a cooly calculated tear.
Apparently both Obama & Hillary got 9 delegates, so it would seem to be a tie in the end for that part. It is a positive publicity boost for Clinton though. Edwards got pretty well trashed. Less then half the votes of the other two and only 4 delegates.
The 5 superdelegates can go either way and don’t have to decide until the convention. Any stories on which way any of them are leaning.
Poor Richardson is heading towards either footnote or trying to get the VP nod over Edwards who looked like he was already going for it in the debate.
Jim
You may be onto something there, Reverend. It seems likely that Clinton’s victory can safely be attributed to the closet racism of New Hampshire Democrats.
Or possibly it was the huge number of people who publically claimed to despise Hillary Clinton, on message boards and the like, but in the privacy of the voting booth were unable to deny their primal animal lust for her limber pantsuited form.
It looked calculated to me, particularly since in the clip I saw she went right into stump mode, using a softer voice. I’ve been waiting for someone to accuse her of using the feminine card, but so far nobody has.
Good Lord man! Some of us are up having a late supper and a spot of tea, please, spare us the horror!
I’ve said all along Clinton’s strength is her organization. Obama’s a charismatic person who can convince voters when he can meet them in person. But the larger the crowd the more difficult it becomes to make that connection and Clinton becomes stronger.
And Clinton is steady. If she suffers a setback like Obama’s Iowa win, she’s already got plans in place and she won’t panic. I’m not saying she’s unbeatable but she’s not going to fall apart.
She was the same way she’s been the whole time, only this time, instead of her usual shrill, ear piercing yodel, she listened to one of her handlers, and turned soft for a minute, and the dupes, er, voters bought it. Aside from the normal level of disdain I have for her, if this wasn’t just an act, the last thing I want is someone who cries when the pressure ratchets up.
Presidents can only get misty, AFAIC, at weddings, funerals, and long budget sessions.
Democracy isn’t pretty, my friend. Alls I’m saying is: when the voting booth curtain is closed, you can move that lever with any part of your body you want.
“Eat it, Hillary! Eat it! Eat it now, you serpent-tongued temptress! Ooh yes… purse your craggy lips a little more for me, harlot. You’re so bad… so very very naughty…”
What a moron. If they were racist, they’d vote for one of the other Dems, not a woman.
“Female” is a race??
Nope, but slack-jawed rednecked racists sure as hell don’t want “one of the woman-folk” out of the kitchen and in the Whitehouse, either.
But then what about female racists? ![]()
Anyway, this thread may take on a whole new meaning with the announcement of the death of Sir Edmund Hillary. (He just ate it.)
My prediction has come true!
