Meatros - I hate runny eggs, so I overcompensate - I cook them so there is no liquid left at all. (f)R refers to my scrambled eggs (and sunny-side-up, and over-easy, and hard-boiled, and poached, etc) as ‘bricks’. So you need a knife to cut them. At least you won’t have drippy eggs.
Terminator seeds are seeds which will not produce a second generation of fertile seeds. They’ll grow that year’s crop, but you cannot replant from them – you have to buy new seed from the supplier. Do a Google search on “terminator seed technology” and you’ll find out more than you ever wanted to.
As to the rest of the OP . . . wel, I guess this vegetarian will go back to his Big Mac.
Big Mac? I eat a Big Mic, from the restuarant with the golden Arch…
i believe it has something to do with modifying one’s behavior into that of a goat, i.e. SATAN!
i knew the devil was the reason i liked to eat out.
They pack things in aluminum cans so we’ll all get Alzheimer’s and start thinking it should be spelled “aluminIum”. The frozen foods cryogenically destroy our cell walls through icemosis. “They” want to kill us because we know about “Them” (not the “They” them, the other “Them”).
All very simple, really.
“Icemosis” is this some relation to Icecapades? 'cos it sounds equally pleasant.
No, icemosis is where he held aloft his staff and parted the frozen sea.
Um, what?
That OP did more damage to me than junk food ever has.
“Eat healthy, exercise, die anyway.”
Is this the reincarnation of that other health-nut who was banned?
This frozen sea - was it made of ice-nine?
I have nothing to add to this thread, but the OP has the exact same name as a character in my first novel. I thought I’d made the name up.
RTFirefly-Ice Nine! Ha! I get jokes.
BTW- I think we scared the OP off…
OR maybe “they” got to her for revealing “their” plans…
LOL…I am so glad I joined this SDMB
First and foremost,
Kneadtoknow- I’m truly sorry for the bigmac comment…I regretted it the second I pressed “submit”…It wasn’t me at all.
nextly- “They” are the corporations who put the food into the cans and sell them to us. First of all, aluminum is not needed in the body (as opposed to iron)and it is harmful and causes disease, thats why dented cans have been known to cause harmful effects and sickness, the seal is broken and the aluminum escapes into your food. People cook with a lot of aluminum pans too, scratched ones release aluminum into our food and make it taste all metallic and whatnot, BTW teflon is even worse, scratched teflon pans are toxic, but most ppl use them anyways or even rejoice when they come across one in a thrift store.
Meatros-well, if you have yet to read a label, you might as well hold off, because most people cannot pronounce or understand the meaning of most of the ingredients anyhow hehehe
and almost every typical (and I live in America mind you) restaurant raids their own freezers to prepare the daily menu items, or dry storage for the aluminum can choices.
I know its a pain for most to cook for yourself, but if you are versed in the alternative, it makes it much more desirable to learn.
WorldEater-well it might not kill us right away, but in the long term, their goal is to help out the health industry into getting more of our business.
Dogzilla-the behavior modification is “consumption”
most people have developed a need for convenience synonymous with betterment.
Sweisamkeit- the reason most store bought breads taste oogy is because the typical consumer wants everything in their lives squeaky clean and white and antibacteriad, so they bleach the flour and then “enrich” it with powdered chemical vitamins.
If you buy your bread, try buying “whole grain” intead of white or enriched.
pldennison-youre right about the terminator seeds, but what is a little less known is that the gov’t are the ones distributing new seeds, and they don’t want to label them GMO, for fear that the consumers will panic.
Hey thats ok right? we don’t mind (especially the vegetarians right) if they cross our corn or our wheat with a fish, in order to withstand colder temperatures. (saralee and jolly green giant companies have publically admitted to this BTW, that they use GMO ingredients)
Space Vampire- I am new here yes, but a health “Nut” worthy of being banned?
gosh, I hope you don’t label me as such. I’m just inquiring and I care to learn about what is going on in the creation of our sustenance. I care about peoples health yes, but I’m not some treehugger who states whimsicle love poems and such. I’m simply versed in this stuff, while most people don’t know much about it. and I think they should know, that considering our destruction may very well be of chemicle administration, we have a choice to know what chemicals are in our packaged food to preserve it.
Deadly Accurate-hahah really? if you did make up the name, good for you, I believe it is the name of an old Welsh mountain nympf.
Me scared off? not likely,
this message board is more intelligent than any I’ve come across, so I think (having yet to be banned) I’ll stick around for a while.
Alumunum cans? I know soft drinks come in them, but I believe veggies and soups and such come in steel cans. I won’t be able to comfirm this till I go home and do a magnet test. In any event, show me where aluminum cans are deadly - I’ve never heard this.
And chemical vitamins? Aren’t vitamins chemicals anyway? As a matter of fact, aren’t we all chemicals?? Or are atoms something else…
Never mind. I’ll just sit here quietly.
What do you suggest we do? Are you actually suggesting we grow our own crops? Otherwise what’s the difference if the restuarant makes the food or if we make the food, we use the same ingredients.
By the way about the label reading-I was being sarcastic. I think most people would know the basic ingredients on the label-I think most people don’t care because it interfers with living. How many things out there are capable of doing us bodily harm on a daily basis? Too many. Breathing air outside is deadly, growing our own veggies can be deadly. Acid rain, pollution, and God knows how many other dangerous things can afflict us at any given time.
And you expect me to give an iota about whether or not my soda (which is suspect in and of itself) is in an aluminum can?
Don’t think so. Until someone can beat the game of life, I’m going to continue on.

The first bit is exaggerated at best, the second is just plain untrue. While it is true that large quantities of aluminum can cause various nervous system disorders, the amounts you are exposed to from food and things like cans and cookware are harmless.
I see your point Meatros, and I’ve never claimed to be perfect, and I don’t think I was suggesting we all grow our own crops, or stop breathing air, or sit quietly in a box, ignorant and blissful.
I was merely pointing out that our societies big business industries are more interested in profit than our health, and that I advocate the use of fresh whole foods instead of preservative laden processed ones.
even though it might take a while longer to prepare than microwave or heating on or in stove/oven.
Hey, how about that. We posted the same link to support different sides of an argument. Hmm. Well, let the readers decide if it says what I think it says of what Gwyllian thinks it says.
And by the way, Gwyllian, welcome to the boards!
I was going to start a thread re: whole foods vs. processed foods. It wasn’t going to be a bashing thread, I was just genuinely curious about what households buy what and why.
