I have quit smoking!
It wasn’t as difficult as I expected except under one circumstance- going to clubs.
It’s brutal. The whole room is filled with smoke, everyone around you is lighting up and everyone looks like the cigarettes are immensly enjoyable.
Other than while at clubs, it’s very easy.
But while at a club one night I was such a wreck that I ate a flyer resting on a table.
Surprisingly, the flyer was very good. Not too tasty, but after i ate the whole thing I felt strangely satisfied.
Now i have come to enjoy eating paper and I wonder how good or bad this is for my health. Is it more or less harmful than cigarettes? Why does it make me feel so, well- SATISFED?
Also, does paper have any nutrients or fiber or any possible benefits?
I still haven’t smoked any cigarettes, though. I just bring a notebook when i go to clubs now.
I sincerely doubt that paper has any nutrients in it. Actually, the chemicals used to bond the paper together might not be good for you if you consume them in large quantities. All in all, I would have to say that chewing on paper would definately be healthier than smoking, but I would suggest you go out and buy a pack of Juicy Fruit. You might look a bit odd gnawing on a notebook in public.
I have tried eating celery, because it is crunchy and wood-like to me, but I can’t remember if it has much iron.
Pica- Cecil wrote a column about that, now that I remember the term. He too, said that the woman who questioned him about eating teacups was probably suffering from an iron deficiency.
What Cecil didn’t address in the column was whether eating paper or clay actually contained any of the minerals that the body was craving.
I guess it’s better than smoking, anyway.
Last night I brought a celery stalk to the club I went to.
It somehow turned out to be quite a hit and I shared it with lots of people.
You don’t get that kind of response by eating flyers.
