ebay ad - WTF? Have you seen anything worse?

No bids? Not a single one?Aw, come on, the seller has already offered a 20% discount! :stuck_out_tongue:

And this “situation” thing…is there some strange Jersey Shore connection going on here?

You Can Shave the Baby Doll

I ran across this trying to find that other one. This one is more weird than bad as it’s a training aid maybe. 19th-century obstetric training doll

We should pool the funds to rescue Ernie, and then pass him around like a White Elephant gift for years to come.

I’m in for a dollar!

So I guess that means the wedding’s off?

Reading the description, it says something about how the other family members don’t like the seller’s “collections”. So it looks like the seller had too many collectibles and one of them was thrown away.

It sounds like a child or developmentally disabled person vs. mom or caretaker. That would explain all of your questions.

Yeah I felt really bad after we had a quick interaction. Here we are making fun of it, and the seller was genuinely grateful that someone else had taken an interest in rescuing this puppet from the trash, interested in finding it a home. :frowning:

A quick scan through the seller’s recent purchases turned up this auction. I don’t think it’s the same puppet though (compare the noses and intact arms).

Wedding planning is quite stressful. I guess the question is was it Bert or Ernie being the bridzilla that set this tragic sequence of events off.

Okay, I’ll buy it if it’s still up for auction when one of you PM a shipping address. I don’t mind paying $5 for curiosity, but I’m not willing to pay $50 for shipping to China and brokerage!

Moving thread from IMHO to MPSIMS.

Uggh. I’m conflicted. I watched 8 episodes of Hoarding:Buried Alive yesterday. I understand vaguely why she doesn’t want it to be trash, but missing hair, an appendage, and some eye paint, it really is. If I had $5 extra to make a total stranger feel like this was okay to sell I think I wouldn’t, even if I collected all things Ernie.

Yeah, I just read that again… I don’t remember it being that coherent the first time I saw it, but I admit I could have skimmed the description.

I’m sorry but if she is indeed mentally disrupted, I couldn’t and wouldn’t buy this thing to make her feel better. She has a great rating, and has been involved in over 400 transactions.

If this is the kind of stuff she has that she calls “collectibles”, I think I understand why her relatives might be upset. Poor Ernie is missing a hand, is in the trash, and has hardened pasta sauce in his hair, on his shirt. Not to mention a scratched cornea.

This is just wrong. I think an email to Jim Henson Productions is appropriate.

Serious question time:
I don’t sell on ebay. How much would it cost to list this, and based on it not selling the first time around, how much to list it again?
