I have listed a number of items for sale with ebay, and they aren’t appearing when I go to the categories or searches. What is up with that?
I see that they mention a delay, but heck, I am paying for my listing, the same as anyone else. Just because I am new at selling…
I am sure they have their reasons, but it is not very customer friendly. It seems like e-bay forgets who is paying the freight!
Surely the buyers, not the sellers, pay that? 
I don’t know how long the delay is currently, but I’ve noticed it can take an hour or two before items show up in the searches. They are listed, though, as you can see if you search by the ID number.
eBay gets thousands of new listings a minute. It would be a technical nightmare to update all their indexes and replicate that data across all their servers for every new listing.
As long as your listing gets submitted properly, it will make its way to the indexes within an hour or so. That gives plenty of time for people to find your listing and bid.
