First of all, let me say I’ve bought several things from Ebay and haven’t had any problems. Until now
So I win an auction and send my money order on May 13th. I figure, it’ll take a couple of weeks to get it, no problem. On May 20th my computer goes haywire and I take it to get repaired, and just got it back today. Meanwhile, I have not received my amethyst cat that I’m wanting so badly, and I just know something is wrong and the person is trying to email me, etc. I go online today…no email or response from this person at all. But I go to my feedback page, and right there in red and black it says :“Prompt payment, A+ customer!!!”
Then I emailed the person and said “I mailed the money order on the 13th, and haven’t received my amethyst cat. Is something wrong?”
Bitch emails me back and says “I don’t show record of having received your payment”
I email the bitch back with the link showing that Yes indeedy, she’s saying she’s received my money, and that I haven’t left negative feedback before, but if I don’t receive it in a few days, I’m gonna have a few choice words to say, and that i’m pretty upset.
That was just a few minutes ago. I’m interested in what she has to say.
I’m so fucking pissed off. I spent less that ten dollars, thank goodness. You stupid people out there: If you’re gonna have a business involved in Ebay auctions, keep your FUCKING SHIT STRAIGHT!!! Goddamn shiteating asswipe motherfucker. May a sandpaper-covered Moby dill pickle find its way up your ass!!!
OK, not much of a rant, but usually I’m a polite person, so for me this is an important step. That is all.
Thanks for listening,
Lorie
Ebay is generally pretty safe, except for the occasional fucktard out there. Does the seller have high feedback? Was it 100% positive in the past few months? Most good sellers will pride themselves on the positive feedback, if she gives any more lip just make sure to mention that you’ll leave negative comments for her. One tip - don’t wait too long. Set a date maybe a week from now, and tell her that if it’s not in your possession by that date (No excuses!) then she’s getting negative feedback and you’ll email Ebay to file a claim of fraud. If you wait too long, you won’t be able to get that on her profile, I believe the cut-off for leaving feedback is 90 days.
Good lord - I have to tell you, I think this is a pretty mild bad experience. Then again, I spend about 50% of my life on eBay (selling, mostly) and because I deal with more people there in general, I suppose the fact that I encounter more whackaloons is simply a matter of percentage. I’ve had at least three sellers not send me my goodies, and one INCREDIBLE asshole who claimed he never received a package from me, and then filed negative feedback on me, then filed a Square Trade case against me, and then, when I provided him with a copy of HIS signature on the delivery notice, accused me of harrassment.
Anyhow (apparently I had my own rant going there…sorry) the cutoff for feedback IS 90 days after the end of the auction, and your seller sounds like a moron. You should be able to get a copy of your cashed money order from wherever you bought it, and I’d advise you to do so, and send the seller a copy. If that doesn’t work, notify eBay and leave the negative. I would say file a Square Trade case against her, but there’s a $15 fee for mediation - IMO your $10 item is probably not worth the aggravation. (But I do hope you can resolve this and not lose the $10.)
Good lord, you spent less than $10, and that makes the seller a
Sounds to me like a simple case of miscommunication, I would think that a couple more emails between you and the seller should clear it up. That amethyst cat needs a home!!
Yeah, I realize it was less than ten dollars, but it’s the principle of the thing. It shouldn’t matter whether I spent one dollar or one hundred dollars. The seller has the responsibility to send the item when the payment is received. The seller received the payment, had my email address obviously (or the feedback wouldn’t have been left under my email address), had my home address to where it was supposed to be mailed, but did not mail the item, then said she did not receive my payment. That’s just shitty. When I buy on ebay I always email the seller when I send the payment, for instance: Dear so and so, I mailed the payment today, please email me when you receive the payment and when you mail the item. None of that was done. I got pissed off and let her know. It’s my right as a consumer. If i pay for an item that I don’t receive, then the person has stolen money from me.
By the way, I got a prompt response from the seller who said she would send the item priority mail. It’s amazing what a short time that took when I’ve been waiting for three weeks for it.
please tell your seller what you are buying. sending a money order with out an order number really sucks. I am NOT pyschic. wish I was, though.
please only bid if you are serious. I hate the fucktards that bid with no intention of buying.
please pay ATTENTION to what you are bidding on. I had an idiot bitch about the size of a button when I CLEARLY state: you are bidding on a 1" button.
Please CONTACT your seller within a week of sending your money IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT. I had some mail disapear (of whom I suspect a mail clerk in the building but have no proof). DON’T WAIT! an ethical dealer will not have a problem with you contacting them inquiring about the order. I recently got an e-mail concerning that lost mail episode…3 MONTHS later.
NO PERSONAL CHECKS means just that.
I am not justifying your seller’s actions. I really am not. It could be that she left positive feedback by accident. I have before. If you sell 752375 of the same item, it is hard to keep track. Not a valid excuse, I realize, but it happens.
It really does sound like a miscommunication to me. Hope you get your kitty soon!
Ooh! Can I join in the rant, from the buyer side? Yeah, after this much ranting, I wonder why I’m still using it too.
When you say ‘all the episodes’, I take that to mean all. Not ‘approximatly 3/4’. Then you alternatly insist you must have forgotten to send part, you’ll get right on it, and that you got it from a friend who said it was all there and that’s why you can’t give me my money back. Bullshit. You sold it to me, you told me it was all there, it’s your responsibility to make sure it is, pigfucker. The only job I had at the time was babysitting for 2.25 an hour, I don’t appreciate being ripped off to the tune of $100, you miserable puppy humping rat bastard.
When you charge me for priority mail shipping, I should not have to wait 2 1/2 weeks for the package to get there!
My address was a) in the corner of the envelope, b) on my check, c) in the email I sent you, and d) written on the note with the check. How do you get it so far wrong that the package gets returned to you?
What’s up with this ‘I will leave the same feedback you leave me’ nonsense? If I send you payment quickly, do everything on my side, and you do nothing but fuck up and refuse to fix it, I should not have to leave you nice feedback anyway so that my feedback doesn’t get ruined. As sort of a related complaint, why did the last 3 people I bought things from refuse to leave any feedback at all? I really hate that.
If you only take paypal, don’t check the boxes in the listing that say you accept other things. I wouldn’t have bid if you’d said upfront that you were just joking about accepting money orders.
Why do you put it as ‘payment methods listed in auction’, then not mention them anywhere? Are you hoping I’ll just guess? Then I email you with 6 days left and you never get back to me. Look, no one else bid on it either. Maybe for the same reason I didn’t…
Try to describe things accuratly… Thankfully, the time this came up the guy was very helpful about fixing the situation… But don’t describe condition and details unless you know what you’re talking about, don’t randomly guess at numbers of cards and then send half as many. Please.
When you say you accept personal checks, don’t decide you don’t like them and punish me for using it. Either take them or don’t. I actually had someone email me to the extent that he would mail my stuff ‘when he got around to it’ because he didn’t like checks, depiste it saying 3 different places in the auction that he accepted them. Took me almost a month to get it.
Mail the damn thing! I got my Outlaw Star VCDs almost 2 months after I paid for them, because the guy kept forgetting to mail it. 2 months.
I know how you feel SuperLorie! I sent a payment for 4 books that I won on May 1 and still have not received them. I’ve emailed the seller twice. He finally emailed back and said that he has been out of town on a family emergency. Yet he did post positive feedback for “speedy payment”. It’s odd, everytime an item is late getting shipped to me it’s always due to a “family emergency” Hey, I know these things happen but geez! I want my damn books!!
Pretty simple, really. Get a couple farads of relatively low voltage capacitors (5-50V), charge them up, then dump them through through touching pennies. You get a short burst of very very high amperage that’s high enough to melt the zinc and copper in the pennies. It’s not the most solid weld, but it works. Obviously, if it’s enough to slightly melt a penny, it’s enough to melt a thin bit of wire, so the caps have to be connected together with some heavy duty copper.
Ever accidentally dropped a wrench (spanner) across the terminals of a car battery? It’s enough to briefly weld it there.
