I just watched Kurzgesagt’s video on Ebola virus: The Ebola Virus Explained — How Your Body Fights For Survival - YouTube
From the video, the virus appears to infect macrophages, natural killer cells and T cells. What an incredible bastard virus this is! I knew HIV could infect macrophages and CD4 T cells but I have never ever heard of any virus (apart from HIV) that can infect pretty much any immune system cell. That is such a horror. I just noticed how ignorant I have been although I consider myself a good student. :smack:
And how the fuck could NK cells get infected? I thought they were the most badass warriors in the immune system. One microbiologist guy had told us that if there was no statue made for NK cells on any place on the earth up to this day, it is because of the fact that there isn’t enough stone to show how big their balls are
I don’t know if this comparison is right but imagine an NBA all star team getting beaten by a team consisting of amateur high school students. This is how it looks to me.
And, again, I very much recommend the Kurzgesagt’s video and also pretty much any video from them
