Nah, the headgear is for the crows to protect themselves from the mind control device that THEY’RE building. They’ll all be wearing them on the day that they turn it on. Don’t underestimate crows.
I walked early this morning to beat the heat.
Edgar followed at a distance. He made it known by cawing occasionally. Bayliss barked back once. I’m kinda concerned what he said about me. 
When we got around to the drive way he was sitting atop the gate post. Gloriously! One wing spread wide.
I tried to get my phone/camera out to take a photo, alas. Too late.
I think I love that bird!!

Edgar was flying very high and cawing in the sky when we were walking.
Ivy said “hey, ain’t that your Crow”?
That made me happy. She said “your”.

No one thought he was a friend til he landed on the eave of the barn and cawed several loud hoarse calls.
