What are people from edinburgh called,ie, people from glasgow are called glaswegians,so can anyone tell me what the people from edinburgh are called, please. 
Edinburghers? (Though if “Edinburgh” is pronounced “Ed-in-boro”, how would Edinburgher get pronounced? “Ed-in-burrower”?)
The people from every burg or burgh I’ve ever known were called ------burghers, Id guess its the same for Edinburgh

For what it’s worth, you’ve also stumped a colleague of mine who’s Irish and who’s worked extensively in London. When I asked him, “what do you call someone from Edinburgh”, he replied, “Scottish”. When I explained I meant Edinburgh specifically, i.e., New York -> New Yorker, he gritted his teeth, broke out into a sweat and started Googling (and hasn’t finished yet).
As far as he can tell they’re simply “residents of Edinburgh”.

And while you can argue a case for ‘Edinburghers’, it’s not a commonplace term. It gets soundly beaten in a googlefight not only by Glaswegians, but also Aberdonians and Dundonians.
It isn’t.
To answer the OP, there’s no generally accepted term for us.

Weird. In all the time I’ve lived here, I’d never noticed that I’ve never heard the correct term for people who hail from Edinburgh, until now.
It may commonly get rolled into three syllables but i wouldn’t say it’s correct. I always pronounce it Ed-in-bur-ah.
And yes the term Edinburgher is the only correct term i’m aware of. You’ll find that it is never ever used casually though, e.g. usually only in threads like this.

While I grew up in one, there aren’t that many -burgh placenames in Scotland and I’ll echo the previous posters suggesting that there isn’t an obvious commonplace set of names for these cases. “-burger” will be understood, but it has that forced air of artificiality about it.
Though “Edinbourgeois” is a coinage with a certain appeal to it.
Whatever it is you call them, it isn’t likely to be “Champions.”
