Edit DVD burned off TV (TiVo actually)

I recieved a Humax DRT-800 for Xmas and am now able to save my TiVo recordings to DVD. Unfortunately, that includes the commercials. I’m wondering what I can do on my PC (with DVD burner drive) to remove the commercials from these disks.

I’d appreciate any recommendations for software for editing these out, etc. I don’t need anything fancy. That’s all I’ll be doing with them, so the simpler the process, the better.

Can you use DVD-RWs? If so, use those instead and transfer the file to the computer. I use TMPGenc. It has a basic editing function that allows you to remove commercials (or whatever else). Yo can also make menus w/subchapters. It also includes burning software.
