I’m sure glad I saved my HULK HANDS[sub]TM[/sub]
I seem to recall “PUNY HUMANS!” from the last movie…
I thought Banner was a Geneticist? atleast as portrayed in the previous movie… Bixby’s Banner was certainly a physicist…
Bixby’s Banner was a biologist, wasn’t he? He was investigating the phenomenon of hysterical strength - 97 lb mothers lifting cars to save trapped children, etc. In a flashback we find out that his wife died because he couldn’t lift the car she was trapped under, which is why he was so obsessed with this. Somehow they find out that the natural gamma radiation was highest on the days when feats of hysterical strength occur, which is why he irradiated himself with the recently upgraded, but still uncalibrated gamma ray machine.
Yes and no. The Hulk doesn’t actually say that out loud; it’s part of one of those psychological sequences so popular of late, where Banner looks into a mirror (or at least, imagines himself doing so) and sees the Hulk staring out at him.
I agree that the timing of this movie seems a bit odd. It’s too soon after the other one for a reimagining, but at the same time, I don’t think the previous one was good or popular enough to warrant a straight sequel. For comparison, it was eight years between Batman and Robin and Batman Begins (and 16 years since the first movie of that sequence), and the Bat is a lot more popular franchise than the Hulk.
