Edward Peruta v. County of San Diego

This case was heard en banc almost a year ago. Does the 9th circuit have some sort of deadline for issuing a ruling like the supreme court does where they will issue opinions at the end of the session or can they just not ever issue an opinion and leave the case in limbo?

Link, please?

Peruta v San Diego County

To the OP’s question, as far as I can tell, there doesn’t seem to be a time limit on the Appeals Courts’ actions. The Supreme Court makes rulings on cases it has heard before its summer recess, but the Appeals Courts don’t have equivalent deadlines.

From the 9th circuit FAQ:

Previous thread on this case. And mentioned here too. At the appellate level in Palmer vs. DC it took 5 years.

Ah. This is a conceiled carry permit case. Thanks.

Certainly better links out there somewhere, but the court ruled no constitutional right to concealed carry: Ninth Circuit rules no constitutional right to concealed carry of firearms.

Gee, I was certain they’d find that the Founding Fathers meant that a “Well Regulated Militia” would conceal their weapons.
