Edward Scissorhands--the ballet?

This is going to show at BAM soon.

Has anyone seen this?
I really liked this movie and I particulary liked the music. So I’m wondering if I should plunk down the big bucks to see this.

One of my coworkers went when it was in Philly – one of his wife’s relatives gave them tickets.

They were not the only folks who left at the intermission.

$30-$80? I’d try to make it.

Wow!

I love the movie. I’ve never been a ballet fan, but even I would go to see this. This is what ballet needs to stay (become?) popular.

I hope “Edward” doesn’t have to catch anyone!

A couple times in the montage he’s sans scissors - a safety concern?

I have wanted to see this since I first heard it was being made. The preview looks great! I went to a ballet version of Dracula a few years back that was excellent. I’m not a huge ballet fan, so having an interesting story I could follow, costumes, a dark theme, etc. really helped me enjoy the production.

The first time I saw this movie, in the theaters, when the credits started to roll I turned to my date and said, “THIS needs to be turned into an opera.” I still think that would be better than a ballet, but I’ll take it.

Ok, I’m pretty sure I’m going to go see it. I’ll write a review when I do.

I didn’t see it when it was in LA, primarily for two reasons. First, I couldn’t convince anyone to go with me, and I don’t like going to the theater alone. Second, it’s by Matthew Bourne. His Swan Lake? Awesome. A Play Without Words, however, was bizarre.

But do report after you see it. If nothing else, it should be visually stunning.

Or possibly a dream sequence in which he is “normal”.

I’ve seen poseter of this and thought it was a musical, and the idea of Edward singing was repugnant to me. I didn’t like that idea at all, but a dance production makes more sense somehow. Like a picture book come to life: it somehow seems more suited to the fairytale than a musical would.
