I guess I must have missed the articles about the big improvement in human rights there in the last several months; could someone cite some articles? Thanks.
I think it’s more based on the assumption that when human rights and democracy records in the Middle East range from lousy to horrible, we work with lousy.
Kerry doesn’t even hint at improvements in human rights. It’s just a matter of having other issues.
It’s generally best to be friendly to the 800-lb Gorilla next door.
Perhaps many Egyptians would prefer America to have better human rights, but they just have to suck it up.
