The (possibly) deadliest mass shooting in Orange County, California, happened yesterday. A man going through a divorce went to the beauty salon where his wife worked and shot a bunch of people. Eight killed so far with one survivor, a 73-year-old woman whose daughter worked at the salon.
You can read about it here:
The salon was called Salon Meritage, located on PCH in Seal Beach.
Missed the edit, but this information was supposed to be in the OP:
The shooter was taken in custody about half a mile away and surrendered peacefully. Reports say he was wearing body armor and had a “cache” of weapons.
It wasn’t confirmed yesterday in the paper, but one of the persons killed in the salon was the shooter’s wife. The son whose custody they were fighting over won’t have either a mom or a dad now (assuming his dad goes to prison and/or loses custody.)
I wonder how the shooter thought this would help his custody battle?
Stress and frustration does horrible things to people. I have only been looking for work for 3 and a half month. (I found part time work but not a “real” job yet) and some days I feel like running amok with a meat clever
Not that I would but at least now, I can understand how things like this happen
We just had a guy sentenced to death here in Kansas, for shooting his estranged wife, his two daughters, and the wife’s grandmother. His son, who is almost twelve now, witnessed the shootings and testified in court.
That poor boy is like the one in your OP, no real parents left.
