Elastic shirt stays for men - give me your honest opinion

With suspender shirt stays? :grimacing:

Nope.

I happen to think that khakis are the perfect pants. Once they get worn in, they are much more comfortable than jeans as casual wear. And, even though I purchase from multiple manufacturers, it always seems to me that the khaki ones are thinner and more flexible than the blue or black ones.

TL;DR: I wear (very comfortable) khakis for just about every occasion.

I can’t believe that these would not imprint through the pants in an extremely noticeable way. My legs are pretty heavy, too. I feel very confident that my friends would be pulling me aside to say, “Hey! You got a pair of your suspenders caught in your slacks when you dressed this morning.”

 I came in here to say exactly that.

If they were visible, the wearer would look like a marionette.

I can’t shake the mental image of someone wearing them and a bolo tie. You pull on the tie’s strings, and the arms and legs move.

I guess they’d make sense if you’re in public all day, doing physical work, and a tidy appearance is important.

But don’t they ever sit down? The elastic looks like it would end up underneath the knee.

I don’t know. I’d never seen them until this thread. They look very uncomfortable to me, but I have a somewhat irrational aversion to tight-fitting gloves, garments, etc. Things that have to be peeled off. :grimacing:

It takes me perhaps a minute to get dressed. I sure wouldn’t mess with such silliness. But to each their own.

Hello. Neat Tucks is my product and I really appreciate you mentioning it. Thanks a lot!

Can one stash a small revolver there?

A pity!

Revolver? No, no, no. Perhaps an aluminum PPK. But you need to drop your pants to get to it. Quick draw it would not be.

Sorry to poke fun MH1973 If people are buying this, good for you. I can see the utility of it.

I’m young enough that garter belts etc. were very unusual. When I tried them, the “back” garter clasp tended to be more to the side, so sitting was not an issue.

Using the toilet was strange, though. You sort of instinctively want to run the garters outside your underwear - which is where the pantyhose would be anyway - so when you need to sit on the pot, you push it all down. But that doesn’t work all that well with a garter belt. I tended to run the garters INSIDE the underwear - so that all stayed in place when I sat down; I just had to push down the underwear.

Seems like a man using the thing described in the OP, that connects shirt to socks, might have a similar problem, if not as often as a lady would.

Gawd, I never wore the garters inside my underwear. They were always the last thing on before the outerwear. But I hadn’t worn pantyhose before, so I didn’t have that muscle memory.

Actually, in high school, I mostly wore tights, if I wore anything. We’d go up to Albert’s Hosiery and buy dancer’s tights.
