Or at least, he will win if enough Amerikan voters have the guts to think outside of the “lesser of two evils” box.
So, what’s it gonna be, Amerika? More of the same old Republicrat/Demublican stupidity and corruption? Or a government that will finally stand for the good of all?
I agree with Legomancer. I seriously doubt there will be an election in 2004 if this war on terror becomes a full-fledged war. Shrub will probably declare a State of Emergency and thus prevent the election from taking place.
If Shrub had a sky-high approval rating such measures may not be necessary.
Contrary to what the “paranoids” think, the 2004 election will go on, and the Supreme Court won’t fool around.
Gephardt will win the Democratic nomination, thanks to his labor contacts and all the New England candidates split that vote, and picks Edwards (who lost a lot of Southern votes to Lieberman and any other moderate candidates that run) as VP. He will have troubles when the press notices that he used to be a social conservative back in the early 1980’s, and his “labor” style won’t help with the middle-class social liberals.
Bush picks Ridge for the VP spot, and is able to swing more to the center.
The election, while no Bush landslide, still is comfortable, and without any election mysteries.
In other races, Sen. Boxer loses to Doug Ose, Sen. Fitzgerald to Dan Hynes, and a Republican picks up Edwards’ seat, for a total Republican gain of one.
2008: Ridge vs. either Bredesen of Tennessee or Blageovich of Illinois- too close to call.
Nader won’t run again in 2004, and the Greens start to die off as a political force.
The Supreme Court will decide, in a narrow 5-4 vote, that an election cannot be held, because if it were held and someone other that Bush were elected, it would undermine the legitimacy of Bush’s term after they install him in office.
Seriously, I think people are giving Al Sharpton way too much credit.
Edwards captures Democratic nomination squeaking past Kerry - who then becomes his veep running mate.
Cheney “heroically” steps aside as veep due to health reasons during the campaign and Bush appoints (Elizabeth Dole? Katherine Harris?) as his veep candidate.
Jesse Ventura runs as the highest profile third-party candidate.
The war goes…okay. A complete defeat of Iraq but a lot more of a struggle than anyone predicted. May take 6 - 7 months. America is then made the focus of a lot of terrorists attacks, costing more lives than the war and 9/11 combined. The economic toll on the nation plunges us further into a recession (that is called the first “triple-dip” ever.)
Not really. If you look at the election results, sure, the Dems won everything, but they won by small margins. Also, Boxer is not a very popular politician, and she’s won twice mainly because of good Democratic years and bad Republican candidates. 2004 shouldn’t be as good a year for the Dems, and Ose is stronger then Herschsohn and Fong were.
For god’s sake, would you stop spelling “America” wrong? It’s freaking annoying. I know you think it shows how rebellious and countercultural you are, but trust me, it makes you look retarded.
Yeah, we’re paranoid all right. We have weird fantasies, like a Presidential candidate is installed as President despite losing the vote when a corrupt Supreme Court issues a “one time only” decision that halts redress of voting shenanigans in a state whose Governor is … that Presidential candidate’s brother!
Only a real paranoid would make up shit like that.
