The only criticism I see from the OP is that the Federal Reserve was involved in two successfull and one attempted assassinations of Presidents of the United States.
Bankers. They’re all wildmen and ya gotta make allowances.
By “laymen” I meant, I assume the average American does not. Dopers ain’t exactly a representative sample.
I know that is the case with the Marxist and Austrian schools. Were you thinking of another?
Of course it isn’t. But anybody who wants to abolish it is a crank.
I considered providing the basis but didn’t want to chance running afoul of the “no board wars” rule. Just ask Google about the username and see what other posts are associated with it.
Mend it don’t end it.
The most obvious way to “mend it” would be to end its political independence. But, then, a POTUS might be tempted to order interest rates raised or lowered as suits his re-election or partisan interests. Don’t think that would be good for the economy.
Indeed. That’s the Straight Dope; the foundation with which to ‘fight ignorance.’
So, detour, what actual knowledge or facts are you bringing to us for our edification? Saying something is obvious isn’t enough - lay out your premises in detail. You say someone other than Booth and Oswald killed Lincoln and Kennedy (or at least that the reasons behind the killings were not the generally-accepted ones) ? Feel free to elaborate in detail, and given the complexity of the topic, I daresay a 500-word post would be the absolute minimum just as the introduction to your hypotheses. A handful of sentences about unidentified international money handlers will not suffice, I’m afraid.
So, some anonymous mook shows up with a vague rant about a vast, global, centuries-long conspiracy and provides next to no factual support other than to imperiously demand that people read a couple of books of unknown credibility?
Hell, we get a couple of these a month. What makes this one special?
Yeah, right, I have nothing to do but spend hours every day doing homework for anonymous Internet mooks, you bet.
Is that in the constitution or have the Jews removed it?
First, the need that El Kabong has to refer to me as an “anonymous mook” is more revealing of himself, that it is of me. The internet is an anonymous medium (for the most part) to begin with.
Ralph Epperson lays out the influence of the European bankers in the Lincoln assassination in the book, “The Unseen Hand.” So, Mr. Ekers can refer to that work. Why should I be expected to write 500 words on the topic?
Would you expect me to write 500 words if I thought that American elections were legitimate? No. Dishing out writing assignments or calling someone an “anonymous mook” if reserved only for those who don’t partake in your system of indoctrination.
Because you’re the one trying to convince people, you lazy kook. I’m sure you’ve already posted more than 500 words here. If you can’t be bothered to explained yourself, why bother posting at all? Were you expecting people to fall to their knees and thank you for showing up? We’ve had people just as insane as you (or more so) make voluminous posts in support of their crackpot theories of choice. A few years ago we had one guy who posted page after page trying to convince us that the Stewart kings of England were secretly black. It was mostly based on his own misunderstanding of a poem and it was just ridiculous, but he didn’t try to give people homework. He wrote out his own rantings in depth because he understood it was a conversation, not a wine and cheese luncheon with a respected author.
No, but if you are going to throw around crackpot accusations, you have to come up with at least a little evidence, or reasoning, or something. You haven’t done that - you are just raving.
Not really - we say that about all the nutcases who put out insane conspiracy theories with no evidence.
Props for the “attack chihuahuas” thing a couple of pages back, but you need to step up your game a bit. At least pretend to debate, or at least throw something out there that we can use to mock and humiliate you.
Regards,
Shodan
Perhaps you should link to four or five hours of YouTube video and insist people watch that before participating in your debate–or else accept your claims as true.
What are your credentials regarding your expertise in the subject area of your OP? Do you, personally, believe every single thing posted anonymously on an Internet message board? If not, why do you expect anyone to believe every single claim you make?
Sorry if the term ‘mook’ offends you but in the absense of any substantive information by which one may judge your credibility, ‘anonymous mook’ is a perfectly accurate descriptor.
Because I presume you’re trying to convince me to read that book. A 500-word book report explaining an author’s premise is the kind of thing we expect from middle-school students, but you’re saying I cannot (and should not) expect it from you?
Well, if you won’t share your wisdom with us, it’ll just have to remain swirling around inside your head, I guess.
Doesn’t everybody?
To be serious for a moment: no, he’s not. If he’s not a troll and is just a genuine crazy person (the jury’s still out), then it’s pretty clear that he doesn’t give a fuck about whether or not we believe him. What’s really important is that his spiel is a presentation, a procedure, a vindication of the fact that he is a special person who is elevated among the masses since he knows The Truth while they do not. The fact that we remain unpersuaded (despite of course the fact that he hasn’t begun to attempt to persuade us) just proves how much more in the know he is than we are. After all, if eveybody he spoke to was easily convinced then obviously the knowledge that he has wouldn’t make him special and unique.
Conspiracy Theorists are generally some suffering from some form of intellectual and emotional pathology, is what I’m getting at.
I don’t believe you’re correct.
Pretend I said “Because you’re the one ostensibly trying to convince people.” I’ve been on the internet long enough to understand that most people latch onto conspiracy theories because they’re desperate for some sense of order and superiority.
