I’ve been racking my brains trying to remember the stories about Elena Ceausescu (Nicolae’s wife) I heard from a Romanian friend in college. Apparently there was also a book written about her that detailed some of the “crazy” things she did. I remember that she had a lot of demands to her servants (the only one I can think of is that she was illiterate and made them read to her).
What is the straight dope on her life (and the biography, was it ever translated to English)?
