I caught the last half of Live by Request last night and parts of the first half. And this morning I heard on the news that he’s not going to do any more studio work; the reason given is that he’s had it with the recording industry. He will continue to tour but he’s not going to record any new stuff.
Whoops! I thought I was still in the Café! Can someone please move this?
He should try recording in a private studio, and distributing his music via the web.
Praise the Lord! Now how can we erase his back catalogue.
No change there then.
Happy to oblige.

I keep hearing that * Music From the West Coast * is far and away his best work in 20 years. Haven’t heard it, though.
Don’t pay too much attention…Elton is known to make threats that he totally wimps out on later. Especially when it comes to money. Nobody spends like he does, it’s hard to imagine that he would give up any source of income.
Then again, maybe Songs died on the vine in spite of the reviews, and this is his face-saving way of dealing with it.
According to the Tues. Atlanta ink-rag…
One of Sir E’s spokesflaks says that the guy was just overly tired and to not take it seriously.
Oh, well. One can still hope.
All downhill since “Where to now St. Peter?”
Yea Elton is up there with the Stones on the final farewell tours and records. Though Elton is a bit better than the RS in the album making category (IMHO Stones have not released anything worthwhile since the Some Girls album)
