I want to give my friend an Empire subscription for his iPad. But from looking at it, it can only be done through his own iTunes account on his own app on his iPad.
So can I not get it for him at all? Is literally the only way to do it just to give him money? Because that sucks as a gift, I want to give him the subscription!
Surely there is some way to get around this. Can I not get the app, then buy the subscription and give him the login details?
ZipperJJ, I checked the link, but that apparently doesn’t work for sending magazines.
UncleRojelio, I was looking up more about the iTunes Gift Cards and found some conflicting information. Some FAQ said that that doesn’t work for magazines!
To further confuse me, I then went through the Empire website. That takes me to greatmagazines.co.uk The thing with that, is that I go through all the info, give them my address etc. Then it says “gift for someone else?” - I say yes. They want his home address and email address, and then they want my credit card number.
But it doesn’t say how they’ll give it to him?! Because it isn’t going through the iTunes store. So is it going to be the same, good app, or some weird thing? Why won’t they tell me how it works before I give them my credit card number and the blood of my first born etc etc?
I’m now more confused than I was to begin with. Stoopid birthdays, why do people have to have birthdays anyway?
ETA: I also thought that Apple didn’t allow that? That you buy stuff not through the iTunes store? So how is it going to work?
You get the Empire app through the official app store, but the access to the paid content doesn’t necessarily have to be done through iTunes. I’ve never used GoodMagazines, but they will likely send your friend an access code that allows him access.
