Empire Warriors

Are any other U.K. dopers watching this excellent BBC2 series about military actions in the waning days of the British empire?

The first installment, two Fridays ago, was about Aden in 1967, and the second show concerned the bombing of the King David hotel in Jerusalem by Jewish guerrillas in 1946. The producers made copious use of period newsreel footage, and talking heads included former guerrillas who participated in the operation, the British officer who commanded the rescue and recovery operation and a woman whose husband died in the bombing. Next week: Malaya. Unfortunately, it’s only a four-parter, as I understand it.
