This is a question for employees of major oil companies;
Does your employer give you a discount on gasoline, etc purchases?
I work for Chevron. We get a nickle/gallon for purchases made with the company travel card. I don’t participate.
Peace,
mangeorge
Well, okay. I get the message.
I guess I could be the only member of the SDMB who works for an oil company. I’ll fly it by once more, then let it drop.
Peace,
mangeorge
My husband works for BP. We get no discounts ,but occasionally (very occasionally) they give gas certificates as incentives
My question is actually part of a larger question, but the whole thing is more an IMHO. Recently the company sent everyone an email urging us to get a ChevronTexaco travel (credit) card. The nickle/gallon only applies to purchases made with the card. I took the message to suggest that we purchase our gas at a Chevron station rather than at a less expensive competitor. No pressure, really, just a nudge in that direction. I wonder about the motive behind that.
But first, I wondered if other companies encouraged their employees to patronize their own brand.
I buy at the local Shell, but because the Chevron has decided to remove the little keeper from the nozzle trigger that allows you to let go of the nozzle.
