If you make it to the end and rescue all the miners, they can’t find any reason to complain at all. The messages that follow are actually pretty funny. If you do stay to watch all of them though, I think you forfeit your opportunity to put your name on the high score list.
Suddenly, Nardo has a flash of insight
I was cursing the bad programming on the game, because sometimes it seems that you only have to tap the jets a little to keep from falling, but sometimes you keep them burning almost continuously just to keep your place. Seems gravity isn’t constant in that world. Stupid game.
But now I get it - the weight of the miners weighs your cab down, and those jets are thus less effective.
Suddenly I’m a little more impressed by the game’s attention to detail. Plus knowing when the jets are going to make a big or a little difference helps to keep from… uh… running into things.
A couple-a questions:
Is it possible to blow up the big ship circling in the cavern you start out in?
In the cavern below the first cavern, I’ve gotten down to where 2 miners are, and a landing pad. But every time I land on the pad, even though it’s a perfect landing, I blow up. What gives?
Is there a way to get everything you want to see on a single screen? I hate that the picture scrolls because I then have to take my hand off the controls to get the page to slide up a bit and it’s usually just when I’m least able to do so.
Try setting your monitor to the highest resolution; this will prevent your having to scroll but it’s still tricky switching rooms.
I’ve answered my own 2nd question. That wasn’t a landing pad. Oops.
Yup. Nothing fancy. Just keep shooting at it. 7-10 hits should do it.
Press F-11 to make your browser window full screen (with MS Internet Explorer), and then everything fits with room to spare.
My word - were you trying to land on the shielded guns?
No, I was trying to land on the horizontal gate, below which there are 3 miners (I said 2). It turns out the landing pad/gate switch is elsewhere. I’m still working in just 2 caverns, but progress has been made. How many caverns are there altogether?
I died.
23 times.
Well, there’s the main cavern where you start, and that has doors on the left, right, top and bottom. You eventually open all of them, so there are three caverns off the main one and going out the top door finishes the game.
Those are the only doors involved, although there are some narrow passages to get through.
