Simple question, but I’m not coming up with an answer by Googling. I was wondering how one expresses the statement “I changed my mind” in Spanish.
I know the word for “to change” is cambiar, and that “mind” is mente, yet I’m unsure that cambié la mente is the correct way to express this idiom. I seem to recall that there is an equivalent idiom, but I just can’t think of it.
Note also that these locutions have no possessive (mi) in them.
One of the most surprising things for me about learning Spanish was how infrequently possessives are used, compared to English. They are often replaced, as in the above example, by a construction using de.
Or, failing that, by the use of a reflexive pronoun.
