This is a little strange, but not really- Disney (and Pixar) have always made films for general audiences, not just kids. There’s something in a Disney or Pixar animated feature that kids can enjoy, and that can make an adult feel like a kid.
Is that really weird? My dad is 62 and Moulin Rouge! is one of his favorite movies. It got nominated for the Best Picture Oscar, for heaven’s sake.
Okay, this is really embarrassing, but I have an inexplicable love for the cheesy Australian teenybopper show H2O, which is about three girls who turn into mermaids. Oh geez, I can’t believe I’m putting this on the internet. I wonder if there’s a third season out yet?
BTW: I’m 30. Not exactly in the target demographic.
Hey, I like that show also-- I know there is supposed to be a third season, but I’ve never gotten to see the entire second season yet (my DVR has problems getting it sometimes)-- I also heard one of the girls leaves: i hope its not Cleo!!!
In fact, I like a lot of Australian kid shows-- Ocean Girl (which appears to be by the same guy who does H20) was shown on The Disney Channel quite a few years back, as was the brilliant Spellbinder. I’ve been able to find both of those on DVD and they are almost as good as when I first watched them as a kid.
