I will be a quarter of a century in a couple months.
My childish indulgences are:
I love anime, I watch Reign, The conqurer; Yu-Yu Hukasi; Cowboy BeBop and occasionally Pokemon and YuGi-Oh!
I play the CCG YuGi-Oh! when I have time to.
Me and a REALLY HOT 20 year old female co-worker go running around the mall, bouncing off the walls like gradeschoolers and having more fun than I’ve had since gradeschool occasionally(mainly when we’ve both had way too much coffee)
I like coloring books and crayons. Buy one every now and then at the grocery store. Also, I like to play jacks, but it seems you can’t find the good metal ones anywhere these days.
I saw the neatest show on TV the other day — it’s called Tokyo Pig! It’s my new favorite.
33 year old male here, and I’m still hopelessly addicted to the same video games I’ve played since I was 11. I’m talking golden age arcade classics like Pac-Man, Galaga, Centipede and dozens of others. Anything that came out after 1988 or so is too advanced for me.
Mark me down as a color-er too. My mother thinks its amusing that her 25 year old daughter wants some of the coloring books that we are buying for my nieces and nephews…
I also stomp through the leaves in fall, and watch clouds in summer. All great fun.
I collect Asterix and Tintin comics, with the excuse that I’ll have grandkids some day. And every Easter season, I buy those marshmallow chicks and eat them…and I chew bubble gum too, but not at the same time.
Wow. Sounds like you guys have some fun. Me, I’m 40, and reading this thread, I realized that I don’t have any “childish” indulgences. Mine are all “adult”, I think: shopping, spa stuff, antiquing, oil painting, and the like. I mean, I have a great time doing all of that stuff. I never ever miss the other stuff, I think.
I don’t climb trees or watch cartoons or read comic books or mess with Barbies or other dolls or play with Playdoh or play with paper dolls or anything like that. I guess it must not bother me, because I really never thought about it until now. (Obviously, I did that stuff as a kid, but not now.)
Huh, maybe I should talk to my therapist about this…?! :dubious:
Unless my boyfriend is in town, I still sleep with a stuffed cow.
I also love watching Animaniacs.
I actually love reading children’s books. I buy them and read them, and then save them for my kids someday. Part of it is because I’m writing a young adult novel and I’m trying to get a better handle on the genre, but part of it is pure pleasure.
I like Harry Potter. I’ve got and read the books (including the Comedy Relief ones on Quidditch and Beasts), I’ve played the computer games, and I’ve seen the movies umpteen times. I don’t have any of the action figures, though–can’t go too far.
Every time my wife and I go somewhere, we always seem to get a teddy bear. We have no kids, but plenty of teddy bears.
