In general, I’ve been studying for the bar, coming up in two weeks now. As far as Enterprise goes, well, it’s on here on Wednesdays. That’s opposite Smallville which I also watch. But most of the time I’m not around on Wednesday anyway because of bridge. Yes, that sporting of sport, bridge. So between the three of them, I almost never get a chance to watch Enterprise anymore. Alas.
Hope I’ve done that quote right! At any rate Viva, Spock’s conception was only told in the ST book “Spock’s World,” which is probably -not- considered canon by official ST but many fans do consider it canon. And according to the book, Spock was the result of much trial and error, eventually conceived via something akin to invitro fertilization. Since the book was written, though, we’ve seen other cross-species children, and we all know only too well how much Bermaga love to mess with canon, so in my honest opinion, it’s probably anything goes with Trip and T’Pol! That Pandamonium Preview has set me off too–I’m still rooting for T’Pol and Archer.
The relentless teaser promo’s are soooooooo panderific though- I guess B&B are truly getting worried that their 4 year streak of bad decisions is about to be involutarily ended.
I was the one who started the complaints about the relentless pandering, and then someone shortened “more pandering” to “more panda” and a joke was born!
Speaking of which- that promo was beyond panda. It was almost late night Cinemax. Dear Enterprise Letters, I never thought I would be writing to you, but the most amazing thing happened last night at my Vulcan Accupressure session. . .
I’m going to try to set up an Enterprise thread FAQ website inbetween working today, so anyone who has things they want entered please speak up while i go searching for threads from the past.
Goddammit, I wrote a long message about the episode and the hamsters ate it. Crap.
Short version: I give the ep a C-minus. Not a bad idea, but totally mishandled. Lots of stupid plot holes and distracting storytelling inconsistencies sink it.
Disappointingly mediocre, I thought. Par for the course for this show. Blehrgh.
I hope you consider reentering your comments. I always look forward to something insightful to clear away the Regulan Bloodsloths upon which Bergama have infected the audience.

here is just a hack and paste job, with many dead links since the search hasn’t archived completely. ( i copied all the ones that showed up) I’ve been busier than i thought today, so it is going slower than it should.
Tars, man! THAT is fantastic! I would like to post it over on UnaBoard in my Trek/ENT thread. It’s a slower board, so it shouldn’t jam your account. Permish?
Go ahead, i just figured out why some of the older threads weren’t showing up when i searched the Cafe Society, they are from before there was a Cafe Society, so i can add them when i have time. There are still some that don’t show up on search, but i can manually look for them later. Then maybe i can make the list look like something more then a big mess.
Viva, here’s an interesting usage note regarding split infinitives from Dictionary.com. Do you really need to be officially offended when you run into one?
And here’s my nomination for the laugh-out-loud-at-the-stupidity-of-the-writers plot point of the week:
Phlox:I don’t know enough about their physiology to create a “truth serum”, but I can selectively erase some of their memories.
What?! Are you really trying to say with a straight face that Phlox can’t whip up a “truth serum” (i.e., some sort of concoction that gets someone loopy enough to babble uncontrollably) but he can pick through their memories and erase the ones he wants? Gaaaah!!!
(pant, pant)
OK, I think I’ve recovered now. I agree with Cervaise - good idea, poorly executed. Although I don’t know if I would give it a C-. Probably more of a C+/B- (is that an acceptable sentence fragment, viva?).
Yes, fragments such as that one are acceptable in a number of situations.
I was wondering where Cervaise had gotten off to…I’d assumed he was at an advance screening of The Passion of the Christ and then kept the free barf bag as a souvenir.
I nearly tossed my cookies just watching the frikkin’ Internet trailer–hence the barf bag comment. I’d be wasting the price of admission if I went, because I’d be spending most of it near a sink or a commode.
I’ve been rehearsing a play, which means I’m busy almost every night. TiVo has gotten a workout, let me tell you. Anyway, we opened this past Friday, so my Wednesdays are again free for the time being.
Hey, thanks. I’ll see if I get some free time tomorrow.
