Envelope stuffing/ work at home

First off, I want to say I enjoy your tongue in cheek website immensely, and please do not slack on your ignorance slaying job because we can’t afford another Bush.

Secondly, I’m sorry I’m about to be a jerk mussing up your hair.

I read one of your articles that had posted in 1987 but is showing on your current main page. Can you make big money stuffing envelopes at home? - The Straight Dope

You mention unsavory publications taking ad money from work at home schemes designed to bilk pigeons. The irony is that you have an advertisement running alongside your editorial for online work at home $72 hr.

So, the more things change, the more they stay the same? Or is it a legitimate website? I’ve seen the same ad a million times wandering around the net. I’ve also known a PhD brainiac who financed his degrees by working from home as customer service agent off hours via a special phone with a flip switch on it- the difference between on duty and off. I don’t know how he found that job but it was a steady arrangement.

Considering the unemployment rate I hope you’d take on the task of updating this article to include ancillary work at home schemes like the internet and also some insight to discern a legitimate enterprise vs scam. Your country needs you.

The ads are by google, and they automatically take keywords from text on webpages and place ads depending on that. Kinda like how people will call others douches (for example) and the ads will start showing ads for feminine hygiene products.

What EvilTOJ said. I wish we had more control over the Google ads, we sometimes get ads that are totally at odds with our raison d’etre* of fighting ignornace. However, we needs the money to survive and ads is where the money is. Come the great revolution, of course, … oh, wait, nemmine.
