Are you kidding? “Anne” is awesome.
“I’m Buffy, the vampire slayer. And you are?” WHAM!

Anne is one of those episodes that’s good when you take it as a whole. Anne made me stop watching Season 3 because I just couldn’t get through it. That was until I finally got myself to watch it all the way through, the last 1/3 or so of the episode was very good, and wouldn’t have been nearly as effective without the setup.
I think the same could be said for Puppet Show, honestly.
I only started watching Buffy 2 years ago or so, I’m still somewhere in Season 4. So no revisionist history for me, it’s just how I feel! Can’t speak for everyone else though.
One of my all-time favorite episodes of “The Simpsons” is the one where Lisa becomes a vegetarian. My family hated it because they said it was too ‘preachy,’ but to me the entire episode is packed with laughs.
Those aren’t mutually exclusive statements.
It was a fairly bad ending (I’ve seen far worse, though) but absolutely the best they could have put together based on the series and the mess it had become.
Beer Bad is one of my favorite episodes. Probably the best of season 4 (though I’m probably going to smack myself :smack: when I remember a better one)
I didn’t hate Riley (probably helps that I didn’t start watching until season 6 and only saw Riley/Buffy in reruns and on DVD) but holy crap on a stick did I hate that episode.
It was the most emotionally moving series finale I’ve ever watched. A few days ago I caught a rerun of it on G4 (yes that channel still exists - for now anyway) and found myself tearing up at the end. That show was about characters, not answers, and we got plenty of answers, just not every last one. I think the haters just didn’t get what the show was. If they did, they’d never complain about the ending.
Yep. I’ve seen it both ways, and it was a lot better watching an ep or two a night than an ep a week, then several weeks off, then another ep or two, another week or two off, etc. It comes off entirely differently, moreso than any other season of any show I’ve seen both ways.
Doctor light, so there’s one strike (if you now want to bring up Blink, shut up, Blink was an anomaly in that regard).
Furthermore, they kept playing that annoying earworm of a song over and over, had a stupid monster of the week, and turned Moaning Myrtle into a sidewalk that they implied could give blowjobs.
The concept of a support group for non-companions who’ve had encounters with the Doctor and don’t know what’s up is actually a pretty good one, but the way they handled it was just rubbish.
One of my all time favorite episodes. Right up there with Saddlesore Galactica, another unappreciated gem.
Lisa was preachy, sure, but the episode totally called her out on her preachiness, and she came off as a jerk before being chastized by Apu and the McCartneys.
I just watched “Beer Bad” for the first time and I really, really liked it. So count me in on that one.
It’s strange - season 4 has some pretty decent episodes, but overall (IMO) it was the by far the worst season of Buffy.
Riley’s a douchebag, but I have to confess that I don’t hate that episode as much as I should and that’s 100% because of the coffee shop scene with Giles playing the guitar and singing. And the Scoobies’ reactions. Classic!
Thank you! That’s always been my take on the show and probably why I loved the finale so much. Though for me the series finale of Six Feet Under is the most emotionally moving series finale I’ve ever watched. Not sure why, but it gutted me. Lost came in a close second though.
I like Tuvix too. What I’m displeased with is people thinking she’s murderous. Hope this doesn’t start a big argument.
Tuvok and Neelix not only are not dead, they seem to be conscious of what Tuvix is doing. When they are reintegrated, no one goes “What the???” No, they react as if they know exactly what happens.
If I came home and found my kid and my computer had somehow integrated and this Kimputer was claiming my kid was dead and it was a new life-form with its own rights…it wouldn’t have time to get “Your kid is…” out of its mouth before I deintegrated it and got my kid back.
as for the OP and others…I liked every ep of BSG except “Tigh me up Tigh me down” I couldn’t even get through that one.
I can’t think of one I LOVE that everyone hates, but for ST:TOS “The Alternative Factor”, there’s quite a bit I like.
Oh, and I utterly LOVE the finale of BSG.
