Grabbed a second.
I’m curious to see who takes penalties for ManU. I’m guessing it’ll be Ronaldo, but Fernandes could keep the duties I guess.

Arsenal petitioning the EPL to be allowed to play Tottenham 38 times a year.
Kind of an ironic comment based on the ending of their last match, I guess.
Fernandes blazes over a last-minute PK with a chance to tie Villa at Old Trafford. Ronaldo was on the field, and to his credit (puke) he was first to give a little consoling bump to his compatriot.
Interesting to see who takes the next one, I suppose…
Whatever Nuno ES was trying to do in that first half with his midfield was just awful. Poor Hojberg looked like the only one there at times. Spurs looked a bit better in the second half, but the match was well over by then.
Still very early days of the rebuild for Arsenal - it’s easier to get the team to play high-intensity football in a derby. The next run of games should be a very good gauge of how much progress has really been made - away to Brighton and home to Villa and Crystal Palace.
Brentford do it again. They are The Little Team That Could. They win but they also entertain.
Mo Salah against Man City again. What a player.
De Bruyne makes it 2-2 with another great goal. Two best teams in the league.
Salahs goal was amazing skill. So was DeBruyne. The second half was classic football at the highest level.
Saudi Arabia have bought Newcastle United.
It would be pretty funny if Newcastle go on an awful run until January that sees them at or near the bottom of the league table. Not much high profile business goes on in January so having to fight off a relegation battle again will be interesting with how everything will change.
Salah looks like he’s gone up another level. Best player in the world right now.
Heeeyyyyy Nooowwwww
Wolves score 3 in about 15 minutes to down Villa. 2 were deflected but still an amazing comeback.
Solskjaer has somehow made United worse with Ronaldo
Wow I can actually comment on a pvr’ed game that has yet to be commented on, here (and why I have to avoid this and the Omnibus World Football thread all the bloody time - to avoid getting spoilered).
Those buzzy Bees of Brentford fell to now-league-leading Chelsea. Not the slightest convincing 1-0 win, in the least - totally neck and neck (no idea what the possession rate was), with the final 25 minutes of the game almost entirely in Chelsea’s half, including several crazy goal-mouth scrambles, requiring Mendy to make more than one cluster of acrobatic multiple rebound saves. Some fine goaltending, especially that absolutely cat-like last-minute finger-tip stop from buddy’s bicycle kick.
Absolute howitzer of a half-volley from Chillwell - a goal of high octane beauty, and prescient defending from Chalobah with his late on-the-goal-line stop to preserve the clean sheet. Heh - the Bees’ Mbeumo hit the post twice! Just wasn’t Brentford’s day.
Chelsea’s offensive weakness continues, though.
Lukaku missed a glorious tap-in opportunity and has been scoreless in his last four; was glad to see him subbed. Too bad Werner didn’t get subbed. His continuing suckage is still annoying (while getting five goals in his last five international appearances, although two of them, IIRC, were against Macedonia). He could have had at least two goals this game. Still early in the season, so, yeah, deep breaths, but still, if he continues with this crumminess, hopefully Tuchel will respond accordingly.
.
They pulled the players off the pitch with 7 minutes to go in the first half in Newcastle because a fan had a heart attack in the stands. I doubt they would stop any game here in the USA. Are the players going to have to go through a lengthy warmup to play the final 7 minutes and then go back for halftime?
Resumed where they left off and now Tottenham have another goal. Most important thing is the supporter is stable and received the immediate medical emergency needed.
Poor Arsenal supporters. You cant spell Arsenal without an Arse.
Steve Bruce leaves Newcastle.
He was treated very badly.
I just read his family lives there. Given his financial constraints I thought his last two seasons were quite successful. Football is almost always a thankless game.
Norwich … what is the point of them being in the Premier League? They come up just to go right back down.
